How and Why to 'Flip Your Classroom' LIMITED

Limited Capacity seats available

Are you still lecturing?  Students today expect access to "passive" content, like lectures, from anywhere at anytime.  And they need higher order thinking skills to be successful contributor to our information society.  The relevance of education today is in jeopardy when it's based on expecting students to show up at a particular place and time to listen to someone speak.  Flipping your classroom is an instructional model that shifts your lectures outside the classroom, accessible to students through mobile devices and computers.  This frees class time for debate, analysis, and critique.  In this workshop, I will share student survey results from my own community college art history "flipped classroom" experiment and reflect on how my experiences as a teacher were affected.
